  • September 15: Business Club Fair: Sponsored by the Zarb School of Business; meet representatives from the 16 undergraduate business organizations.

    Location: Lobby, The Career Center, M. Robert Lowe Hall, South Campus

    Time: 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

  • September 20: Zarb School of Business Alumni Association Resume Critique and Reception: The Zarb School of Business Alumni Association, in conjunction with The Career Center, is conducting a Resume Critique and Reception for students to have their resumes reviewed by successful Hofstra alumni who will explain how to develop a highly effective and professional resume. An introductory reception will be held prior to the event, providing students with an opportunity to network with alumni. All students who register for this event MUST bring a resume in order to participate.

    Time: 6-9 p.m.

  • September 22: Presentation by Charles Weinstein, Managing Partner, Eisner LLP: Executive Speaker Series sponsored by Zarb Graduate Business Career Services and the Center for International Financial Services and Markets. Mr. Eisner will discuss “Leadership and Ethics.” Open to Zarb B.B.A./M.B.A./M.S. alumni and students. Register by e-mailing graduatebusinesscareerservices@hofstra.edu

  • September 24: Zarb School Reception in Honor of Hofstra University’s 75th Anniversary: Faculty, administrators, alumni and parents will kick off the University’s 75th anniversary.

    Location: East Reception Area, C.V. Starr Hall, South Campus

    Time: 3-5 p.m.


  • September 29: Zarb School of Business Career Fair for Accounting, Finance and IT Majors: Sponsored by Beta Alpha Psi and The Career Center. Graduate and undergraduate students are invited to meet representatives from more than 100 companies interested in employing Zarb students.

    Location: Mack Exhibition Complex, North Campus

    Time: 6-8 p.m.


  • September 29: Zarb School of Business Internship Orientation: Sponsored by The Career Center, this workshop provides information about the benefits of a business internship. Students will learn about the resources to obtain an internship, when to take part in an internship, conducting a successful search, applying for an internship, and gaining the most from the experience. Internship coordinators from the Accounting, Finance, Marketing, International Business, Management, and Information Technology Departments will be available to answer questions.

    Location: Room 245 East Library Wing, Axinn Library, South Campus

    Time: 11:15 a.m.-12:40 p.m.

  • October 4: Zarb School of Business Alumni Association Practice Interviews: The Zarb School of Business Alumni Association, in conjunction with The Career Center, is hosting a business-focused practice interview and reception night where students will take part in one-on-one practice interviews and feedback sessions with industry professionals, and have the opportunity to network with Zarb alumni. In addition to meeting and working directly with industry professionals to refine interview skills, students who participate in this event will satisfy the 30-minute practice interview time required to participate in Pride Recruiting. Students are encouraged to sign up at The Career Center or by calling (516) 463-6060. All students who sign up for this event MUST bring a resume in order to participate.

  • October 6: Welcome Back Barbecue: Sponsored by the Zarb School of Business. Enjoy an afternoon with classmates, faculty, administrators and staff of the Zarb School. Free T-shirts will be distributed.

    Time: 11 a.m.-2 p.m.


  • October 13: Zarb Executive Speaker Series Presents Nancy Friedman: Ms. Friedman is the emerging markets Europe operations and strategy director at Pfizer. Open to Zarb M.B.A./M.S. alumni and students. Register by e-mailing graduatebusinesscareerservices@hofstra.edu

  • October 21: The “G” Word: Globalization is a process of interaction and integration among the people, companies, and governments of different nations, a process driven by international trade and investment and aided by information technology. Students are invited to participate in a discussion about the effects of globalization.

    Location: The Career Center, M. Robert Lowe Hall, South Campus

  • November 8: Zarb School of Business Alumni Association Presents “Building a Career Preparation Roadmap”: The Zarb School of Business Alumni Association, in conjunction with The Career Center, is hosting a round-table discussion designed to help freshmen, sophomores and juniors in the Zarb School of Business build a “career preparation roadmap” and explore the resources available within the Zarb community. Zarb alumni and faculty and The Career Center staff will discuss key career preparation milestones such as identifying fields of interest, what makes a good candidate in those fields, when and how to apply and interview for jobs in those fields, and how alumni, faculty and The Career Center can help. Students will also have the opportunity to meet and network with alumni and faculty.

  • November 13: Hofstra’s Chapter of the American Marketing Association Hosts Regional Marketing Conference: The conference will focus on entertainment marketing and will feature professionals who will speak on entertainment marketing in sports, theater, television, film, and music.
