The Entrepreneurial Assistance Program (EAP) offered by Hofstra University's Scott Skodnek Business Development Center provides participants with the "nuts and bolts" skills required to operate and grow a successful business, especially in a challenging economy. Participants receive training and counseling that will enable them to complete a business plan while attending the program. A free information session about the EAP was held September 21, 2011. Since February 1991, the EAP has helped more than 1,000 entrepreneurs launch and expand their businesses through management training offered in workshops ranging from developing marketing strategies to creating financial management systems. The next 60-hour program will be offered from October 3-December 7, 2011, on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m. for a fee of $495 (scholarships and installments available), which includes a manual and all materials. An Entrepreneurship Certificate is earned upon completion of requirements. To register, please call 516-463-5850.
